Obtaining health insurance while visiting the UAE will soon be a simpler process.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) has introduced a new system that allows tourists to secure health insurance at the same time they apply for their tourist visa. This integrated service will be available through the ICP’s website and app.
This update, announced on Monday, July 22, is designed to facilitate a smoother experience for visitors and to boost tourism by providing a more streamlined approach to managing both visa and insurance needs.
Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP), shared insights on the new project with Gulf News. He explained, “This initiative aims to simplify the process of obtaining health insurance by integrating it with the tourist visa application through an electronic platform at the national level.”
He continued, “The project’s goal is to support the UAE’s tourism sector by making it easier for global visitors to obtain health insurance in case of emergencies, aligning with the authority’s priorities and objectives.”
While the exact launch date for this new insurance feature has not yet been announced, the ICP has assured that the platform will oversee pricing from UAE insurance providers.
