The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has introduced a new Dhs105 million Mental Wealth Framework aimed at enhancing mental health and wellbeing for Dubai’s residents. This initiative, launched under the guidance of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE, is part of the broader Dubai Social Agenda 33.
The framework includes 10 key initiatives to be rolled out over the next five years. Designed to position Dubai as the premier global destination for living, working, and visiting, the framework focuses on best-in-class practices and innovative solutions to boost mental wellbeing across various sectors in the community
The new Mental Wealth Framework is designed to address all segments of society, with a special emphasis on the elderly, children, and people of determination. Key initiatives will concentrate on early detection of factors affecting mental health, emotional wellbeing, and positive energy levels. The framework will also enhance care, support, and counseling services, covering the entire spectrum from early detection to intervention, improvement, and prevention.
A significant portion of the framework’s budget and time will be dedicated to research and innovation in mental wellbeing, reflecting Dubai’s commitment to evidence-based decision-making and advancements in the field.
Strategic goals of the Mental Wealth Framework include advancing research and innovation, in line with Dubai’s principles of using scientific research to guide decisions and plans. To support these goals, a series of studies will be undertaken to continually assess and ensure psychological and community stability, particularly for the elderly, children, and people of determination.
The framework has been modeled on the top six global benchmarks to maximize its effectiveness and impact.
