UAE Unveils Supreme Space Council to Boost Space Ambitions

The UAE Cabinet, led by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has announced the formation of the Supreme Space Council. This new body will report directly to the Cabinet and aims to elevate the UAE’s role in the global space industry.

Chaired by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the council will include key figures such as the Minister of Industry, the Minister of Economy, and the Chairperson of the UAE Space Agency, among others.

The council’s main tasks include:

Creating policies to regulate space activities.
Setting national priorities and tech needs for space exploration.
Planning investments for public and private space initiatives.
Collaborating with international partners on space security.
The council will also work on building the UAE’s capabilities in the space sector and forming partnerships that benefit the industry. The UAE Space Agency will provide technical support as the council gets underway.

This move highlights the UAE’s commitment to advancing its space ambitions and innovation in this exciting field.
